A Time to Be Born:
Sister Nettie Mae Spivey was born April 12, 1935 in Vernon, Louisiana to the late J.D. Spivey and the late Nettie Jo Spivey. She was the eldest of twelve siblings, six of whom preceded her in death.
A Time to Commit to the Christian Walk:
Nettie dedicated her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age. She later united with New Daughters of Zion Baptist Church, under the pastorate of the late Reverend Robert Stevens, where she remained a faithful and devoted member until her death. Nettie was united in marriage to Clinton Welch. To the union, the Lord blessed them with one daughter, LaJuana Gayle Welch, who preceded her in death.

A Time to Learn:
Nettie was a graduate of Jonesboro Colored High School.

A Time to Work:
Nettie worked in various capacities at Glenwood Regional Medical Center for 30 plus years. She worked diligently in her church where was active in the Adult Choir and Culinary Committee. Sister Welch loved blessing others and cherished working with her church family.

A Time to Remember Family:
Nettie is now resting on her constant faith in the redemptive love of the Lord, Jesus Christ. She Leaves Cherished Memories: Her loving and devoted granddaughter: Atonda Welch, West Monroe; (2) sisters: Doris (Joe) Robinson, West Monroe, Louisiana, Joyce (Willie) DeBurr, Monroe, Louisiana; (3) brothers: Lloyd (Bettye) Spivey, West Monroe, Louisiana; Garland (Lynda) Spivey, Mansfield, Louisiana, Jerry Spivey, West Monroe, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
