  • Praying for the Barnes family and church family.

  • He was like a father to me. He baptized me in 74. I worked with him around his house. He would tell me a lot of stories about the Bible and put it in every day life.i am really going to miss him

  • He

  • He was the pastor who baptized me 50 years ago at Lanes Chapel Baptist Church. I am forever thankful for that moment we shared in that summer of 1967. Godspeed to you Reverend Barnes…rest easy in the presence of the One who loves you most…

  • He built Lanes Chapel Baptist Church and helped many children to become college students to prepare for their future.

  • Reverend Barnes taught me American History at Ashland High School in the seventies. I also saw him approximately a month and a half ago at a funeral he was performing the Euology at. He remembered me but asked what did he teach me. I told him American History. For his age he still knew me. What a mind he had. I will always remember the advise he gave outside of class. I owe my success to him. I willl always carry his words with me.

  • My prayers go out to the Barnes Family. RIP Pastor Barnes. MSB

  • Our prayers are with you! Without Pastor Barnes Liberty Hill M.B. Church may be still in a old wood framed church. He built our church with his own hands.

  • He was Mentor to me and not only me but to a lot of Pastors/Ministers…..RIH
